In the last three weeks, high drama was being played out between  between Prime Minister Oli on one hand and the other senior leaders of the Nepal Communist Party that almost resulted  in the imminent exit of PM Oli. The issue was of Oli’s incompetence and failure to address the more immediate problems that Nepal was facing.

It was a disastrous week fo Prime Minister Oli.  His nationalistic rhetoric had no takers in his party and most of the Standing Committee members were unequivocal in demanding his resignation not only the post of Party Chairman but also the post of Prime Minister in the last meeting held on 30th June.

Having run out of Gas in pushing for ultra nationalist (read Anti Indian) rhetoric regarding the dispute of Kalapani area,  Oli has been brought down to earth by his colleagues to face the realities in handling(mis) of the Spread of Wuhan Virus and for taking unilateral decisions without taking the top party leadership into confidence in all his decisions.
 

Nepal: Constitution Amendment Bill Passed: For PM Oli what next?

As expected the Upper House- (National Assembly) passed the 2nd Constitution Amendment Bill of redrawing its official map including the disputed areas of Limpiyadhura, Lipu Lekh and Kalapani.  The Presidential seal was given on the same evening of 18th and thus the authentication of the inclusion of the disputed area under Article 274 (10) of the Constitution was complete.
