October 7th was the last and final deadline given by the Constitutional Assembly to the CPDCC (Constitution Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee) to come up with a final report on the thorniest issues still to be resolved in drafting the constitution.

Governance at its worst.
 
This is what we are seeing in Nepal today.  With the Prime Minister  due to go to US again for cancer treatment, many vital decisions are getting postponed indefinitely.  Added to this is the mistrust between the two major parties and the seven point deal between the two parties is as good as dead.

It was understandable that PM Modi during his short visit could connect with the people of Nepal. The enthusiasm shown by the people of the streets in Kathmandu was genuine and spontaneous.
