If the Prime Minister of a neighbouring country makes an open accusation in his televised address to the nation, then it is something serious and needs to be examined. In the instant case, Prime Minister K. P. Oli in his address to the nation accused India of imposing a blockade which he described as cruel, inhumane and beyond imagination.

It is a pity that the situation in south Nepal ( Madhes) is getting more and more messy with no prospect of an early solution. 49 people have so far been killed and another 729 have been injured of whom some are in a critical condition.

Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli (K.P.Oli) achieved his dream of becoming the 38 th Prime Minister of Nepal on 12th October after winning with a majority of 338 votes against a total of 587 members.

At last, the Koirala Government appears to have realised the seriousness of the situation. The top three leaders who in the words of their own Baburam Bhattarai had transformed themselves into a “ruling class” met at Baluwatar yesterday and decided to withdraw the army to its barracks, provided the protests are peaceful.
