It is known that a serious rift had taken place within the top leadership of the Nepal Communist Part- essentially between a faction led by Co- Chairman Dahal and that of the Prime Minister K.P.Oli. It is also known that it was temporarily patched up by the intervention of the Chines Ambassador in Kathmandu.

It is a pity that while Oli’s Government is facing an imminent crisis due to Covid-19 (Wuhan Virus) pandemic, it is downplaying it and is busy with other things.
One in 28 in Kathmandu is said to be diagnosed with the Wuhan Virus and the pandemic is getting out of control in the three districts of the valley.

Many Indian Newspapers and some issues on Strategic Analysis carried the news that the R & AW Chief led a nine-member delegation to Kathmanu on 21st October by noon and is said to have returned the same night. In all it is said that the delegations stayed in Kathmandu for nine hours.

PM Oli in his usual style and on his own made a small reshuffle in his cabinet, with Ishwor Pokhrel the Defence Minister being relieved of his Defence portfolio and made minister for the PMO . Ishwor Pokhrel was once thought to be close to Oli has now been relegated to a post of a Minister without Portfolio.

Just a month ago, in an effort to patch up between the two top leaders Oli and Dahal, other senior leaders of the NCP managed to persuade Oli to give an undertaking that all decisions will be taken in consultation with the Party.
